Situated in the heart of Pleasanton, Nation’s Giant Hamburgers offers an inviting celebration of classic American comfort food with a distinctive local flair. This beloved restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving hearty, satisfying meals that perfectly balance timeless flavors and generous portions. The menu is a tribute to the all-American diner tradition, featuring a wide variety of mouthwatering options that cater to diverse tastes. Popular dishes like the Chili Cheese Burger are a standout, boasting juicy, flavorful patties smothered in rich, meaty chili and melted cheese, paired with crispy Hot French Fries or their famed Chili Fries that turn a simple snack into a flavor-packed indulgence. Breakfast lovers will appreciate the generous portions of perfectly golden Hashbrowns and classic sandwiches like the Grilled Ham and Cheese, offering warm, melty satisfaction with every bite.
For those seeking something a little different, Nation’s also features delightful alternatives such as the Harvester Sandwich — a wholesome grain and veggie-based patty served on a toasted whole wheat bun, bursting with fresh produce and house dressing. Seafood aficionados will find the Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon patty a fresh and flavorful choice that reflects the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients.
One cannot overlook the dessert offerings here—Nation’s has earned a devoted following for its homemade pies. The Apple Pie is a perennial favorite, with its flaky crust and warm, spiced filling that evoke a deep sense of nostalgia. Seasonal fruit pies, like the luscious Half Strawberry Half Blueberry Cheesecake, bring a burst of freshness and sweetness that perfectly rounds off any meal. Pair these with a thick, hand-spun shake — be it a Blueberry, Strawberry, or indulgent Oreo Cookies Pieces Shake — and you have a classic American diner experience at its finest.
While the interior reflects a classic, no-frills diner aesthetic with a cozy, hometown vibe, some patrons have noted that the décor shows signs of age, describing the lighting as somewhat dim and the furnishings as sturdy but dated. Nonetheless, this does little to detract from the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the truly attentive and friendly staff. Multiple reviews highlight servers like Emily who enhance the dining experience with their promptness, care, and clear communication, turning an ordinary meal into something special.
Many guests emphasize the restaurant’s efficient service and friendly management, who often check in to ensure customer satisfaction. This genuine hospitality is a hallmark of Nation’s Giant Hamburgers, making every visit feel personal and appreciated. Whether you’re stopping by after a long day for comfort food and a slice of pie or gathering with friends and family to indulge in classic favorites, Nation’s invites you to savor quality food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a true slice of Americana.
Great place for quality burgers and delicious pies. You can never go wrong with their pies. Staff is always nice and friendly. Our server Emily was very attentive and reassured us when our food would be ready. Food came out quick. No complaints, will be back.
Go big or go home kinda deal! Come for the breakfast of royalty or a smashgrab hamburger made to order in this setting of homestyle cooking from the real MVP. I love pie, cherry peach and apple preferably anytime of the year you'll find yourself head over heels infatuated with this home slice of heaven, did I mention the milkshakes???
Great Service and very delicious food! The service was super quick and efficient! Emily communicated very eloquently and made the experience eating there more enjoyable!
This place has a great quality and food. As a Giants fan I believe their front logo was very well chosen. The decor, and the indoor were not the best, as it looked like it was outdated and old. The chairs were a bit stiff, and the lights weren't turned on because there was no light bulbs. The rooms were dimly lit, due to the nonfunctioning lights. The service was alright! However the interior was really outdated, and the condiments looked also a bit on the older side. However, their food makes up for that! Their food was delicious, and everything tasted so amazing! Their cheeseburger or their bacon cheeseburger all taste great! Their chili fries are also good, and their onion rings were decent! Their food completely makes up for the outdated and old decor, however their food omg it was the best! Highly recommend the food, but only if you're taking out for takeout, or just quickly stopping by, as the interior was not in the best shape. Their pies was also very good, I extremely suggest the banana pudding! Hope this helps!

Great comfort food, since moving up from the LA area, this is a combination of Norm’s/ Marie Calendars. Pies are great! Burgers are made to order. But don’t sleep on the breakfast, it’s always fresh!!!!
Typical cafe food. It was not bad but nothing special. I love their Cherry cheesecake pies. Blueberry cheesecake is a second runner-up. Cherry & Blueberry Pie are now $8.50 a slice.
